Meromorphic solutions of difference equations in the complex plane

The key idea in this talk is the property of the meromorphic solutions of difference equations in the complex plane. The main tool of studying this topic is Nevanlinna theory. Thus, I will start from difference equations in the real line. The background of difference equations will be presented at first. The relations between the solutions of difference and differential linear equations with constant coefficients will be discussed later. Secondly, I will show the notations and basic idea of Nevanlinna theory, which is one of the greatest achievements in 20^th century. At last, I will talk about some related properties of meromorphic solutions of difference equations in the complex plane.

About the speaker

Dr. Wen is an associate professor in Department of Mathematics at Taiyuan University of Technology and now a Research fellow at City University of Hong Kong. He received his B.S. degree in Shannxi Normal University in Xian in 2007. He got his master degree in the Ocean University of China in 2010. He obtained his PhD degree in Mathematics from the University of Eastern Finland in 2013. In 2014, he joined Taiyuan university of Technology as an associate professor.
