Prof. Shern-Long Lee was Invited to Publish a Review Article in Nanoscale

Recently, Prof. Shern-Long Lee of IAS at Shenzhen University has published a review article related to microscopic techniques utilized in energy materials in Nanoscale (IF: 6.97). The paper title is Recent Progress in Hybrid Perovskites Solar Cells through Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy.



Energy consumption is an international issue faced by scientists in the world. As such, perovskite-based Solar Cells have attracted much attention in recent years. In this field, the Organic/Inorganic Hybrid Perovskites Solar Cells stand out as a promising candidate for next-generate energy sources. Not only the synthetic chemists but also the materials scientists concern very much the mechanism that underpins the extremely high efficiency of the perovskite-based solar cells. Traditionally, scanning tunneling microscope and atomic force microscope are used for imaging sample morphology. Now, the nanoscale explorations using scanning tunneling microscope/spectroscope (STM/STS) present their powerful ability to unveil these existing issues such as inhomogeneity on the surface, within the materials, and at the interface. In this regard, Prof. Lee’s group have focused on the recent developments in perovskite materials using STM/STS to unravel the fundamental properties especially crucial for perovskite materials and solar cells progress. They get started from sample preparation in STM followed by giving elegant examples that present the detailed analysis via STM/STS in the topic.


The first author of this review is Dr. Sanjay Sahare in Prof. Shern-Long Lee’s group and Prof. Shern-Long Lee is the corresponding author. The publication was supported by NSFC (21972095).
