Research Interests:

Study on Culture and lipid accumulation of Tribonema sp.

As a new generation of biodiesel feedstock, oleaginous microalgae have the advantages of high lipid content, easy cultivation, easy harvest, pest control and high value by-products. Therefore, it has attracted great attention as a new generation of biodiesel raw materials. The development of oleaginous microalgae industry is a major trend in the production of biodiesel. The objective of this study is to explore the lipid accumulation of Tribonema sp. and realize the practical application of microalgae biodiesel.

Identification and Phylogenetic analysis of Tribonema genus

The original interspecific classification of Tribonema genus based on less morphological characteristics, and mainly depends on filaments shape and the number of plastids in cells. In recent years, 18S rDNA, rbcL and psaA genes has been used in taxonomy and phylogenetic analysis, and study the species and genus relationship of Fribonema. These data showed that the morphological classification was consistent with the species edge reconstructed by molecular data, but more data could not be obtained only based on morphology in origin evolution and environmental diversity assessment. At present, there are few studies on the phylogeny of Tribonema. We mainly focus on the rearrangement and phylogenetic analysis of the groups.
