On the morning of August 12, 2018, IAS Staff Meeting for New Semester was held at Conference 207 of Office Building with the presence of Prof. Qingquan Li, President of Shenzhen University, Prof. Haiyan Ming, Director of Office of Discipline Construction and Development of Shenzhen University, Prof. Charles C. Han, Dean of the Institute for Advanced Study(IAS) and the staff from IAS. President Qingquan Li chaired the meeting.

In the meeting, President Li proposed the main directions of the future work of IAS: first, to explore the operation of the management systems and operational mechanisms implemented in European and American universities; second, to explore the way of the combination of research and personnel training.

President Li pointed out that universities shall develop in continuous improvement rather than revolutionary reform and hoped that the staff if IAS would dare to face challenges with team spirit in the future.

After that, Dean Charles C. Han reported current affairs and urgent problems of IAS, which got practical suggestions from President Li.
