On February 25, 2024, Professor Liu Fude's team published a research paper titled "Roll-to-roll fabrication of lithium metal anodes with hierarchical lithiophilic structures and controlled deposition for enhanced stability" in the international prestigious academic journalEnergy Storage Materials. The study combined roll-to-roll processing with solution combustion to prepare 3D current collectors with multi-level lithiophilic structures. This preparation method has advantages such as simplicity, low cost, and ease of large-scale industrialization. Using this current collector as the attachment substrate for lithium metal in lithium metal batteries can change the lithium deposition mode from top-down to bottom-up during the cycling process, greatly improving its cycling stability and safety. Professor Liu Fude from Institute of Advanced Study in Shenzhen University is the first corresponding author of the paper, undergraduate students Peng Gangqiang from the Class of 2019 and Wang Guohong from the Class of 2021 are the first and second authors of the paper, respectively.
