Prof. Zhao Wei's research group published a research paper on supercapacitor materials in Chem.Eng.J.

On March 13th, 2024,Zhao Wei's researchgrouphave publishedresearch paper titled"Exploration of the role of oxygen-deficiencies coupled with Ni-doped V2Onanosheets anchored on carbon nanocoils for high-performance supercapacitor device" in Chemical Engineering Journal.Zhao Wei's researchgroup from Shenzhen University anchored vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) nanosheets on carbon nano-coils and introduced nickel dopant to synthesize a new electrode material (OV-Ni-V2O5/CNCs/NF) with oxygen vacancies.The material exhibits excellent electrochemical performance, achieving a specific capacitance of 3485 F·g−1(1742.5 C·g−1) at 1 A·g−1, which is significantly higher than that of vanadium pentoxide/carbon nano-coils electrodes without oxygen vacancies and nickel doping, and approximately 3.8 times higher than the previously best reported.Furthermore, the asymmetric supercapacitor device composed of this material also demonstrates high energy density (144 W·h·kg−1) and long cycle life (5000 cycles). The research results indicate that the synergistic effect of oxygen vacancies and nickel doping effectively enhances the conductivity of the material and the number offaradaic pseudocapacitanceactive sites, thereby achieving excellent energy storage performance.
