Mercury Pollution in Natural Environment

About the speaker

Dr. Martin Tsz-Ki Tsui got his Ph.D. degree at University of Minnesota in 2010, and then he was awarded a very prestigious fellowship - The Tuner Postdoctoral Fellowship - for his postdoc training at University of Michigan. Dr. Tsui has joined University of North Carolina as an Assistant Professor in Biology since 2013. Dr. Martin Tsz-Ki Tsui is an international expert on the Mercury Ecotoxicology and Biogeochemistry. Up to now, he has more than 20 SCI papers published on top journals, including Environmental Science & Technology and Limnology and Oceanography.

Talk Introduction

Mercury is a global pollutant and presents a threat to the health of human and wildlife. Mercury has a complex biogeochemical cycle that scientists do not completely understand. In this talk, I will give an overview on the environmental cycling of mercury, and will present some of my research results on mercury cycling in stream ecosystems in northern California, USA.
