Talk Abstract:    

Carbon materials are widely used as adsorbents and catalysts in the chemical industry. In the past 30 years, the preparation and regulation technologies of carbon nanotubes and graphene have made great progress, which creates new chance for the development of carbon-based industrial catalysts:    

1.     Exploration and Mechanism of Oxygen-free Chemicals Produced by Metal-free Nano-carbon Materials Catalyzed by Liquid Phase Hydrocarbon Oxidation

2.     Surface Interface Regulation and Reaction Mechanism of Nano-carbon Supported Metal Monoatomic and Precious Metal Nanoparticle Catalysts

3.     Novel Photocatalytic Materials Constructed by Two-Dimensional Metal Carbides.    

 

About the Speaker:        

Prof. Hao Yu is an awardee of Supported by Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, Excellent Youth Foundation of Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province of China and Pearl River Nova Program of Guangzhou. He has hosted over 10 projects from the Natural Science Foundation, Excellent Youth Foundation of Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province of China and Key Technologies R&D Program of Guangzhou and received the 1st and 2nd prizes of natural sciences from the Ministry of Education. Prof. Yu is primarily engaged in research on frontier scientific issues related to greening of chemical processes, development of new energy sources and efficient utilization and is working on the study of basic theory of multiphase catalysis, catalytic reaction engineering and new technology of green chemical industry. He has published in international academic journals, including Angew Chem EdInt, Energy&Environmental Science, Nano Energy, ACS Catalysis, J Catal, Applied Catalysis A&B, AIChE Journal, and over 10 papers were collected in SCI (over 10). His research results have been transformed into 16 patents (9 authorized).
