Report Title: Research Progress of the Generalized Ricthtmyer-Meshkov's Instability
Reporter: Liyong Zou, Researcher from the China Academy of Engineering Physics
Abstract:
Under the function of shock waves, acceleration, and velocity shear, fluid interface's instability and mixing phenomena will occur, which is called the instability of fluid interface. This issue also plays an important role in the fields of astrophysics, inertial confinement fusion, and compressible turbulent mixing. In this report, we will introduce our group's research about the instability of Richtmyer-Meshkov(RM), Rayleigh-Taylor(RT), Kelvin-Helmholtz(KH), gas-particle mixing, and the technique of Shadow, Mie scattering, PIV, PLIF, Holography, etc. We will also introduce the experimental, calculative and theoretical research progress on generalized RM's instability and try to analyze its future development trends.
