Research Interests:

Dr. Yan’s research interests are lab on a chip, microfabrication, cell separation, imaging flow cytometry, deep learning and nanophotonics. His methodological and theoretical research mainly focusses on 1) the development of biomedical micro-devices for cell separation, 2) liquid metal-enable 3D microfluidics, and 3) liquid metal-based soft electronics.

Dr. Yan has published 60 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals, including Nature Communications, Advanced Functional Materials, Small, Lab on a Chip, Analytical Chemistry, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Scientific Reports, Applied Physics Letters etc.
