Curriculum Vitae
Huiping Hu, female, senior engineer, master advisor, general Secretary of Guangdong Edible Fungi Association. Ms. Hu is mainly engaged in the research of edible and medicinal fungi’s resources collection, breeding, cultivation, fermentation application, etc. She constructed the largest germplasm resource bank and database of wild edible and medicinal fungi in China, with a total of over 26,000 specimens, over 9,000 strains, and over 11,000 pieces of genetic data of molecular identification. Based on the database, the genome ofGanoderma leucocontextum, a new species ofGanoderma sp.,Flammulina Fenna, a new record species ofFlammulinasp.in China, andRussula griseocarnosa, an important mycorrhizal fungus, have been analyzed for the first time, and the sporulation genes ofGanoderma lucidumwere identified by transcriptome analysis. The regularity of occurrence and distribution of wild edible and medicinal fungi, as well as the relationship between species and geography and climate have been initially revealed by resequencing andcombining withthe cultivation characteristics ofGanoderma lucidumandCordyceps militariscollected nationwide. Based on the germplasm resource bank, 616 edible and medicinal fungi were successfully domesticated, a batch of high-quality strains, such asGanoderma leucocontextum,Flammulina FennaandOudemansiella raphanipes, were promoted and applied, and a batch of rare strains with high polysaccharide content and/or high triterpenoid content were isolated and screened. Among them, the publication and promotion ofGanoderma leucocontextum, a new species ofGanodermasp., have made innovative contributions to the cultivation ofGanoderma sp.from scratch to industrialization in Linzhi and even Tibet. She has undertaken more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, including national key research and development projects. She has 81 publications, listed as the first or corresponding author on 31. She is also the patent holder of 50 national inventions of China patent, listed as the first inventor on 24. One of the patents, “Ganoderma leucocontextumstrain and its cultivation method and applications” won the silver Award of the 8th Guangdong Provincial Patent Award. She identified a new species ofGanoderma sp.,Ganoderma leucocontextum, and won the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award and the third prize of Guangdong Provincial Standard Innovation contribution.
