About the speaker

Dr. Qi has been a professor in Department of Electrical and Mining Engineering, University of South Africa since October, 2014. He received PhD degree in control theory and control engineering from Nankai University Tianjin, China, in 2004. He has authored and co-authored more than 60 journal papers. His research interests include chaos, chaos-based cryptography, and nonlinear control system.

Talk Introduction

The shortages of existing chaotic systems are stated. Qi chaotic systems and Qi hyperchaotic system and their advantages over the existing ones are presented. The generations, analysis and implementations in circuit and FPGA of these chaotic systems are reviewed. The Qi hyperchaos-based cryptography systems are presented. Model-free control idea is introduced. Higher order differential control for nonlinear system and its applications in real system are reviewed.
