报告主题:范德瓦尔斯磁性材料MX2中磁性激发的拉曼研究

黄明远,于2001和2004年获得中国科学技术大学学士和硕士学位,随后进入美国哥伦比亚大学攻读博士,2009年取得博士学位,并获得优秀博士论文荣誉。2009-2012在美国加州理工学院从事博士后研究。2012年,入选国家重大工程入选者(青年)。2013年9月起,被聘为南方科技大学物理系副教授,组建了二维材料光谱学实验室,从事高压、低温和强磁场下的拉曼光谱、荧光光谱和吸收光谱的研究。主要研究的对象包括二维磁性材料、量子自旋液体材料和二维材料异质结等。已经在Nano Letters,PRL,Nature Communications等国际一流期刊发表40多篇论文,总引用超过3000次。
报告摘要:
Ever since the discovery of intrinsic magnetism in two-dimensional materials such as Cr2Ge2Te6 and CrI3, which are exfoliated from van der Waals (vdW) magnetic materials. The family of vdW magnetic materials have received renewed attention due to their potential applications in spintronics devices. In this talk, I will introduce our Raman study about the magnetic excitations in MX2, including the magnon modes in FeCl2 and FeBr2, the two-magnon bound state in FeBr2 and the electromagnon modes in NiI2. The magnon and two-magnon modes exhibit clear Zeem splitting and display dramatic changes during the magnetic phase transitions. More interestingly, we observed one of the doubly-degenerated chiral phonons strongly coupled with the ‘magnetic exciton’ in FeCl2 and obtained a magnetic dipole moment with a g-factor of 1.5.
