On July 16, 2018, 29 teachers and students from IAS visited National Taiwan University (NTU) for a week of academic discussion and cultural exchanges. During the visiting, the delegation discussed with the Chemistry Department of National Taiwan University about working together to promote collaborations in areas of science research, student exchanges and laboratory construction.
The delegation firstly visited NTU Chemistry Department, the Condensation Science Museum, and the Material Component Center at NTU. All of teachers and students experienced the campus life of college students here and saw many advanced experimental equipment.
Later, the delegation headed by Professor Charles C.HAN, Professor Shern-Long LEE, Professor Ye Zhou, Professor Shanshan Xu, Dr. Yang Wei, paid a visit to NTU to share the scientific research achievements and discuss laboratory construction with representatives from NTU Chemistry Department, including Professor Chung-YuanMou, Professor Pi-TaiChou, Professor Yi-TsuChan, Professor Shang-WeiChou, Professor Hao Ming Chen, Professor Wei-Hung Chiang and Professor Ching-I Huang. Students from the delegation also reported to the teachers and students from UTU on research direction and research progress of the research group in the form of posters. After professional evaluation of the evaluation committee of NTU, seven students were awarded prizes, including Ceng Kelin, Li Jiayan and Wen Jieqi, Wang Jiayi, Xu Renze, Yuan Lingxiao and Yu Shichen. Students from IAS showed their professional academic literacy and higher creativity on the posters, which were appreciated by teachers and students from NTU.
The delegation also visited Crystalline Science Experiment Camp, National Palace Museum and National Dong Hwa University.
The visit was successfully concluded on July 22, 2018 under the support of Professor Pi-Tai Chou’s group from NTU Chemistry Department and IAS. The teachers and students of the delegation have enriched their experiences and deepened the perception of Taiwan's cultural through visits, cultural experiences, exchange visits.
It's the first time that IAS has established a cooperative relationship with NTU Chemistry Department,which would greatly promoted the future research cooperation, academic exchanges, student exchanges,and also have has a great effect on promoting the model and management system of IAS.The Institute will take this opportunity to accelerate the implementation of the cooperation and exchange project with NTU, and learn from the excellent educational and teaching concepts of NTU to cultivate high-quality talents with international perspectives.
