Recently, Elsevier released the list of the 2018 Most Cited Chinese Researchers. The 2018 list includes a total of 1,899 scholars from 229 universities or research institutions in China. Prof. Steven F. Chen was nominated as one of the researchers in Agriculture-and-biological-sciences. This is the second time that Prof. Chenhas been honored such honors after being rated as Global Cited Researcher and MostCited Researchers in 2017.
Elsevier's Scopus database provides data support and technical implementation for the 2018 Most Cited Chinese Researchers List. Scopus is the world's largest peer-reviewed academic paper summarydatabase, which contains more than 20,000 peer-reviewed journals, including more than 500 Chinese periodicals. Among the literature included in the Scopusdatabase, there are more than 3 million author's addresses from Chinese(Mainland) institutions, and more than 4 million author's names.
The 2018 Most Cited Chinese Researchers come from 229 universities or research institutions in China, and most of them are from universities. A total of 282were from Chinese Academy of Sciences, ranking first in organizations. Tsinghua University has a total of 126 scholars selected, ranking second. Peking University and Zhejiang University ranked the third or fourth, with 100 and 91elected respectively. Shanghai Jiaotong University ranked fifth with 81scholars selected. Fudan University ranked sixth with 57 scholars selected. Such universities have over 30 scholars selected, including Sun Yat-senUniversity, University of Science and Technology of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Tongji University and DalianUniversity of Technology.
