On October 2 and 4, nearly 60 high school students from different middle schools in Shenzhen visited IAS, Which were led by postgraduate students Heng Zhao, Heming Fu and postdoc Qiuyun Xiao from IAS.

The students learned about the operation and performance of equipments at IAS laboratories. Heng Zhao introduced the operation and performance of laboratory equipments to these students and also answered their questions. When visited the laboratory Heng Zhao was at, he conducted a standardized experiment demonstration and let the students have a try.

Combing with her experience of studying and living at IAS, Heming Fu shared her personal insights with the students.

Postdoc Qiuyun Xiao introduced the laboratory and experimental situation of reseach scientist Hai Xiong’s group of IAS. Her professional skills and patient explanation won the praise from the students.

This activity aims to make high school students know more about IAS by visiting the laboratories, and encourage them to study harder. At the same time it’s a good way to expand the social awareness of IAS and make preparations for future enrollment.
