A Teacher-Student Exchange Meeting was held for further studies on the afternoon of October 17th at Conference 105 of Office Building. About 20 people attended the meeting, including Prof. Steven F. Chen, the Dean of IAS, Dr. Yang Wei, the Assistant Dean of IAS, the counsellor Hailiang Chen and student representatives from juniors and graduates.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Chen briefed the students on the situation of further study and studying abroad and encouraged the students who were willing to further their study. He proposed that students should be guided by interests to choose universities, and improve their foreign language level for applying universities abroad.

Dr. Wei said that the Institute leaders and teachers all attached great importance to the work of further study of undergraduates and they would like to provide supports for students and also take measures to put the work into practice.

Prof. Li also made a speech and made specific suggestions, such as communication among students with common goals and more contacting with the supervisors. He provided guidance on the details of the recommendation letter.

The conference will last for answering questions. The students' questions were answered in detail by three teachers.

The purpose of this meeting is to help junior and graduates to understand the situation of further study, mobilize their enthusiasm, and make preparations for applying for universities abroad.
